KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Wholesale Jordan 8 . -- Joshua Dobbs threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more scores -- including a career-long 70-yarder -- in his final home game Saturday as No. 19 Tennessee won a 63-37 shootout with Missouri.Dobbs was 15 of 22 for 223 yards with two touchdown passes to Jauan Jennings and one to Josh Malone. He rushed for a career-high 190 yards on just 10 carries. You can just see the confidence he has in himself and everybody around him, Tennessee coach Butch Jones said.Tennessee (8-3, 4-3 SEC) has won three straight games and has scored over 40 points in all of them. This marks the first time since 1995 that the Volunteers have scored 40-plus points in three consecutive games. The Vols won despite allowing 740 yards in total offense, the highest single-game total ever by a Tennessee opponent. Troy gained 721 yards in a 55-48 loss to Tennessee in 2012.Damarea Crockett rushed for 225 yards and Ish Witter gained 163 yards to lead a 420-yard rushing attack for Missouri (3-8, 1-6). The Tigers gained 600-plus total yards for the fourth time this season.Offensively thats a pretty good day, Missouri coach Barry Odom said. I didnt have enough answers defensively to put us there to win it.Crockett had the second-highest single-game rushing total ever by a Tennessee opponent. Mississippis Dexter McCluster rushed for 282 yards against Tennessee in 2009.Tennessees John Kelly rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Alvin Kamara ran for 55 yards and two scores. The Vols were clinging to a 35-30 lead when Dobbs made a move around Missouris Thomas Wilson at the line of scrimmage and raced for a 70-yard touchdown with 13:20 remaining. Tennessee took command from there.Although Tennessee won the game, the Vols were knocked out of contention for the SEC Eastern Division title when Florida beat LSU 16-10 earlier in the day to clinch a spot in the Dec. 3 SEC championship game against No. 1 Alabama. We didnt know about it, Tennessee cornerback Cam Sutton said. I just heard about it after the game. Thats something we werent worried about throughout the course of the game.THE TAKEAWAYMissouri: The Tigers season-long kicking woes hurt them again Saturday.Missouri missed an extra-point attempt for the fifth time this season at the end of the Tigers first series. Missouri also had gone 5 of 12 on field-goal attempts this season before Saturday. The Tigers kicking game has struggled so much that they decided to go for it rather than attempting a field goal while facing fourth-and-12 from the Tennessee 20 early in the second quarter. After Missouri was penalized for a false start, the Tigers still kept their offense on the field to try converting the first down on fourth-and-17 from the 25. The drive ended with an incomplete pass.Tennessee: The Vols defense remains extremely vulnerable, particularly against the run. Missouri put up huge numbers against Tennessee one week after the Vols allowed 443 yards rushing in a 49-36 victory over Kentucky. Tennessee also gave up 353 yards rushing to Texas A&M and 409 to Alabama this season.UP NEXTMissouri hosts Arkansas on Friday.Tennessee is at Vanderbilt on Saturday. Cheap Jordan 8 Shoes . NEW YORK -- Jared Donaldson has accomplished some surprising feats this summer, perhaps none quite so impressive as his ability to remain off the radar despite the heavy buzz about age-group peers such as Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe.Donaldson, 19, is on the radar now. He arrived with a boom, not a ping, here at the US Open, where he upset No. 12 seed David Goffin in the first round and then bolted into the third round with an impressive 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 win Thursday evening over Viktor Troicki, who entered the tournament ranked No. 32 in the world. The sudden flare of the spotlight hasnt exactly blinded Donaldson.I think the other guys deserve a lot more attention than myself, Donaldson said after his latest win. My peers have done better than I have. Honestly, whether or not I get a lot of attention, Im still 120 in the world (No. 122 to be precise). Thats not amazing. What the articulate native of Rhode Island left unsaid is that his low profile is partly due to his decision to pursue a radically different developmental path outside the cone of the traditional spotlight. Donaldson went to Argentina at age 14 for two years to train on clay to improve his movement, consistency and stamina.Even though I was 14 years old, I was doing a pro schedule just like it was my job, Donaldson said of that experience. I was 14, but I was doing fitness 2? hours a day, hitting four hours a day. I was training with guys who were 18, 19, 20 years old. It was a big takeaway. It taught me how to work really hard.Later, while his age peers were vying for the prestigious junior French Open singles title, he was grinding on the Futures tour in Turkey. When the junior tour moved to Roehamptoon for Wimbledon qualifying, Donaldson was whacking forehands and seeing the sights in Binghamton, New York. Cheap Jordan 8 Retro. The payoff began this summer, as Donaldson reached the third round of the Canada Masters, qualified at Washington D.C., and won a match at Atlanta. Almost all his losses were to quality players: Milos Raonic in Canada, Nick Kyrgios in Atlanta, Stan Wawrinka in Cincinnati.Ive been playing well this summer, Donaldson said. He added, But Ive also had kind of an average beginning of the year. The seasoning of Donaldsons game was evident against Troicki. Donaldson was down 2-4 in the first set but turned it around and never surrendered the lead. He leaped to 3-0 in the second set, at which point Troicki took a prolonged injury timeout to have his left foot treated, presumably for a blister. The distraction was enough to stop Donaldsons momentum. He was broken in the next game but never was rattled. Up 3-2, Donaldson fiercely defended his lead by holding a game of multiple deuces. At one point in the game, Troicki took some time to change the bandage on a finger, but Donaldson remained unfazed. The guy [Troicki] took a lot of timeouts, there was a lot going on, Taylor Dent, Donaldsons coach for over two years now, told ESPN.com. Jared handled all of that well. He played a very mature, focused match.Donaldson isnt worried about getting attention. I want to be top-10, top-five, No. 1, he said. If I get that ranking, Ill have enough attention -- almost too much attention. The feeling here is that somehow, he would be able to handle it. ' ' '
Anthony Martial and Raheem Sterling have lots in common. Wholesale Shoes Cheap . Both are only just into their twenties, are in their first seasons at Manchester United and City respectively and both were the subject of hotly-debated transfers, albeit for very different reasons. Both have hardly spoken to the media at all, certainly not at any length, so with derby day approaching it seemed like a good idea to spend the day in Manchester and catch up with two of the brightest young talents in the Premier League. It was a slightly inauspicious start when I arrived early at Manchester Uniteds Carrington training complex in a bright blue taxi, in this week of all weeks. Sterling moved to Manchester City from Liverpool in the summer The first thing that strikes you about Martial when he walk into a room is his sheer physical size. He really is a big old unit. Smiling and polite, he makes a point of shaking hands with everybody in the room.A translator is required for the interview but he understands a lot of English already, far more than he can speak.  I make a bit of effort in my schoolboy French but end up sounding like Steve McClaren auditioning for Ello Ello!  Once the chat got underway his personality came to the fore. Charming and bright yet studious and sincere is how I would sum him up. Its clear the incredible position he has reached in his football career so far is no accident - but the result of talent, dedication and a steely-eyed determination. Charming and bright yet studious and sincere is how I would sum him up Shreeves on Martial Wise beyond his tender years, he learnt from his astonishing £5m move from Lyon to Monaco aged just 16, so has been able to take the seven-fold increase in his price tag into his stride as easily as he would a pass through on goal.He has very clear career objectives, which he is focused on 100 per cent.He also had a nice line in humour and a ready smile. His level-headedness is as obvious as it is impressive. I couldnt quite work out if he is a man in a boys body or a boy in a mans body. Maybe a bit of both. Interview over, and it was time to head 10 miles across town to Manchester City, where a very different interview lay ahead.Guarded, wary, suspicious and to date deliberately media shy, Sterling was shaping up to be the polar opposite of the young man I had just spent time with.   Shreeves is picked up in a blue taxi for the interviews Ever since his acrimonious move from Liverpool he has been viciously vilified on social media and in his eyes he has been labelled as the perfect example of everything that is wrong with football: Greedy, disloyal and uncaring.Any time he did try to engage publicly with his opinion it just rebounded on him. So he just withdrew. Not in a sulk or complaining fashion, more of a I cant win whatever I say, so why say anything? But hes now come through all of that. And some. Today was a day off but he came in because he wanted to do the interview. He wanted to re-engage with football fans. He knows there will always be haters but he can deal with that. Uniteds form has been inconsistent, but Martial still looks a top class signing He wanted to talk football and that is exactly what he did for half an hour. Brutally honest, insightful and with a wicked line in self-depreciation his interview will suprise many people. He knows there is a preconception of him which is far from flattering. He doesnt complain about that one jot but he would like people to see the real him and then make up their mind. He is certainly on no media charm offensive, hes just looking for a bit of objectivity and fairness. There are too many highlights from the interview itself to mention but him talking about his mum and calling her Jose Mourinho had me in stitches... He knows there is a preconception of him which is far from flattering. He doesnt complain about that one jot but he would like people to see the real him and then make up their mind Shreeves on Sterling So it was a highly insightful day in sunny (genuinely!) Manchester, and I for one came away with a real insight and understanding of these fortunate young mens lives. If you catch the interviews I hope you feel the same.Watch Geoff Shreeves interview with Raheem Sterling on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday, and with Anthony Martial on Saturday or see them here on skysports.com. I was at Souths and he was at Waratahs, Teo said. I was feeling a little bit stale and asking myself some questions and I bounced it off him a little bit.I said Im 27, do you think its too late?. He said No, no its not too late. I asked if he thought that I would be alright or is it too hard? He said No I think that you can do it. Hes someone that gave me a lot of confidence to give it a go. Would I have been a good player? I needed to answer those questions myself. The opportunity to play union took me to Ireland, thats where I played and then a chat with Eddie. WARSAW, Poland -- Borussia Dortmund spoiled Legia Warsaws long-awaited return to the Champions League with a 6-0 away rout of the Polish champion on Wednesday. Wholesale NFL Jerseys .The home side, which reached the quarterfinals on its previous appearance in 1995-96, looked out of its depth against Dortmunds speedy forwards, who were keen to make amends for losing to promoted Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday. You cant compare games, but every game helps and every analysis helps. A huge compliment to my side, Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said after the clubs biggest ever away win in European competition. My Champions League debut could not have gone better. Ill always remember it fondly.Back in the Champions League after a season away and a summer of upheaval, Dortmund raced into an early lead with three goals in the first 17 minutes of the Group F encounter.Mario Goetze grabbed his first goal for Dortmund since his return for Bayern Munich in the seventh minute, with a perfectly placed header to Ousmane Dembeles cross.Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should have made it 2-0 shortly afterward but Warsaw `keeper Arkadiusz Malarz twice got the better of him when Christian Pulisic was also in a position to score. But Sokratis Papastathopoulos scored in the 15th when he was relatively free to head in Raphael Guerreiros free kick, two minutes before Juan Bartra claimed his first Dortmund goal from close range after Malarz had pulled off three saves to deny Guerreiro, then Aubameyang and Marcel Schmelzer.Aubameyang again went close when his attempted chip drifted just wide.Thibault Moulin tried chipping Roman Buerki before the break but the Dortmund `keeper peddled back to catch the ball.Guerreiro made it 4-0 early in the second half after Dembeles initial effort was blocked, Pulisic set up substitute Gonzalo Castro in the 76th, before Aubameyang chipped the goalkeeper to complete Warsaws miserable evening in the 87th.A catastrophe, coach Besnik Hasi said. The club, Polands first Champions League representative since Widzew Lodz in 1996-97, now has six defeats and no wins in nine meetings against German sides. Coach Tom Thibodeau says the former MVP will probably start travelling with the team in the next few weeks. Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee at Portland in November and was ruled out for the remainder of the season by the Bulls. BATON ROUGE, La. -- Florida coach Jim McElwain watched his Gators overcome injuries, an extra road game and repeated adversity in the shadow of their own goal line. That should be valuable experience for a feisty football team thatll face long odds again when it meets top-ranked Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game in a couple weeks.Floridas defense stuffed LSUs Derrius Guice on a do-or-die run from the 1-yard line in the final seconds, and the No. 23 Gators held on for a tension-filled 16-10 victory that clinched the Southeastern Conference East Division on Saturday.I cant tell you how proud I am of our players and our staff, and Im happy for our Gator fans who dont think were very good, but all we do is end up back in Atlanta, said McElwain, whose Gators (8-2, 6-2 SEC, No. 21 AP) also won the SEC East last year. The final play capped a defensive struggle in which No. 16 LSU converted a fourth-and-10 play on its final drive, only to get stopped on back-to-back runs from the 1 to end the game. Fullback J.D. Moore came up short on third down.Florida quarterback Austin Appleby completed only seven passes on 17 attempts, but one of his connections went for a pivotal 98-yard touchdown to Tyrie Cleveland. Eddy Piniero scored the rest of Floridas points on field goals of 36, 24 and 34 yards.LSU (6-4, 4-3 SEC) controlled most of the game and held statistical advantages, outgaining Florida 423 yards to 270 and holding possession for 34:02. LSU also led 7-0 after Guices early 1-yard touchdown. But on three occasions, the Tigers failed to score after driving inside Floridas 10 -- the first time because of Guices fumble in the first half and the second time because of a botched field goal in the third quarter. LSUs lone field goal came three failed plays after the Tigers had a first-and-goal from the 4.We just shot ourselves in the foot. We had a lot of opportunities, said LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron, whose prospects of keeping the job long term werent helped by the result.Had the Tigers, who came in as two-touchdown favorites, converted a few more of those opportunities, theyd still be in good shape to get the SECs Sugar Bowl bid.Not anymore.THE TAKEAWAYFlorida: Missing a handful of starters, the Gators played with a lot of heart and relied heavily on their elite defense to pull off the upset.LSU: The Tigers two turnovers and botched field goal turned what could have been a fairly comfortable victory into a losing strruggle. Cheap Jerseys From China. INDICATIONMcElwain sounded eager to revisit questions about whether his program tried to dodge the Tigers when the original game in Florida was postponed by Hurricane Matthew in early October. Florida balked at initial offers to move the game to LSU as the storm approached, or to play at home one or two days after the originally scheduled time. That left the SEC little choice but to postpone the game until both teams could buy out non-league opponents. But LSU refused to give up a home game, forcing Florida to travel if it wanted a shot to play for a conference title. The way I look at it, they got what they deserved -- and it should have been worse, McElwain said.Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor mocked Floridas critics by making light of the matter. We didnt have no courage, he said. I guess out of fear we fought back.TOUGH DAYLSU starting defensive back Donte Jackson was in coverage on Applebys long scoring pass down the right sideline to Cleveland, who then escaped Jacksons grasp after the catch near midfield. After LSU went down 13-10 in the fourth quarter, Jackson fumbled a kickoff return by running into his own teammate, setting up Floridas final field goal.INJURIESLSU lost a key defender in the first half when middle linebacker Kendell Beckwith needed help off the field. He spent the rest of the game on the sideline with his left knee heavily wrapped. LSU star running back Leonard Fournette, who played despite being banged up last week, came out of the game for good after being stopped short on a third-and-goal play in the second half.EMOTIONAL FLARE-UPThe two teams scuffled near the middle of the field about an hour before kickoff. Several people viewing warmups captured video they posted on social media. It was mostly yelling and shoving as coaches and police working security converged quickly to break it up. Some players also acted as peacemakers. One video captured Fournette pushing Florida defensive backs coach Torrian Gray away from a cluster of LSU players and coaches.POLL IMPLICATIONSFlorida is likely to climb back into the Top 20. LSU might not fall out of the poll , but will be punished for its squandered opportunities.UP NEXTFlorida: The Gators renew their non-conference rivalry with Florida State in Tallahassee.LSU: The Tigers visit Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night. BERNE, Switzerland -- When Chris Froome attacked on the descent of the Col de Peyresourde on stage eight of the Tour de France, Stephen Roche could not believe it. Air Max Rabatt .Roche, who in 1987 became the first Irishman to win the Tour, feared Froomes descent in an aero tuck that left many with their hearts in their throats was too risky for his own good. It helped Froome win the stage and take the yellow jersey -- but it could have gone horribly wrong.Roche, like many, believes Froome is poised for a third Tour title when the race finishes in Paris on Sunday. However, should a number of riders choose to attack during Fridays 146-kilometre rider from Albertville to Saint Gervais Mont Blanc, Roche believes Froome may test chance with a daring 12km descent from the top of the Col de Joux Plane -- the final mountain in Saturdays penultimate stage. There will definitely be certain guys having a go, Roche told ESPN. I think Froome, the way he is now, might even have go for it himself ... try and get away going up [the Col de Joux Plane] and make the decent to mark the event [his Tour win.]The roads are very narrow. It is very technical and long ... very tricky, very fast. There are very tight corners and the possibility of the tar melting. It will make it more dangerous. Im sure some guys are looking at it [to attack] ... Vincenzo [Nibali], [Romain] Bardet ... also [Alejandro] Valverde who seems to be riding better than [Nairo] Quintana. It is a decent that Roche knows well -- and holds fond memories of. The Col de Joux Plane was also the final climb of the 1987 Tour he won following a mighty tussle with the Spaniard Pedro Delgado -- and likewise the race from its summit to the finish in Morzine was the last decent. But in 1987 the stage came the day after a dramatic finale to La Plagne, where Roche pushed so hard in pursuit of the yellow-jersied Delgado that he collapsed at the finish and was taken to hospital.Roche, who was then 39 seconds down on Delgado overall, answered emphatically following his release. On the 22nd stage to Morzine, he and Delgado reached the Joux Plane summit together, but then by the finish they separated by 18 seconds after Roche dropped Delagado on the decent. Roches ride brought him to within 21 seconds of Delgado overall and delivered a huge psychological blow.I did it to get at Delgado after the day [to La Plagne], Roche spoke of his descent to Morzine. It was, Okay ... you saw me yesterday and that they took me away to hospital. Now, Im going to put time into you, and guess what I am going to do to you [in the time trial? I didnt want to get 10 or 12 seconds. It was for one second to show him I could do it. Roche explained that descending has long played an integral role in stage racing and that, now, there is a greater reliance on it if climbing doesnt work. The last years it has been an ingredient for Tour riders because of Froome ... [it was a case of] If we cant get him going up we will get him going down, Roche said. But now Froome is going down as well as anybody, if not better. It is not the best place to attack, but you do if you think there is something at stake. It has become a winning ingredient for a winning a Tour now. The race tactic is not to make [a rival] fall off. It is to have him back off before he falls off. So its not your fault that the guys who cant descend is taking extra risks.Today they try to go down as fast as they can, to push the other to the limit and get them to fault. No-one wishes anything on someone else, but I think the way the guys descend now they are thinking, How am I going to get time? If you cant drop guys, [a fast descent] for someone might cause them to back off a little.Roche hopes Froomes key opponents do something to challenge him in the Alps, much like how Colombian Quintana struck late last year.We are all just hanging on to the image of last year, Roche said, adding that those hopes include: Quintana riding away and Froome having great difficulty near the end, that the [Sky] team cant handle the work load they are doing, Quintana gets better as the Tour continues, and that he will after the second rest day. We are all hanging on to the hopes.Either we are dreaming or there is a bit of reality in there. I think there is a bit of both. You want to make people believe there is still hope that something will happen. When you come back to reality you say, Froome for the moment seems very, very strong, but the other guys seem to be under a little bit.Quintana [on stage 15 to Culoz] didnt get his bum off the saddle, whereas if he was anyway near half normal he would have attacked. I think it is annoying Froome. We saw him getting out of the saddle [on the last climb on stage 15] and making a fake attack. It must be agitating him with these guys sitting on his wheel for 24/7. Are people going to just ride on the Sky train and naturally fall into second and third place and have the time trial in two days time dictate who is going to be second or third? I cant see how they are going to attack Froome. Can anybody ... try to do something? Air Max Sverige .C. -- When North Carolina freshman Ryan Switzer reported to training camp in August he was a little miffed to learn he was third on the depth chart at punt returner. Air Max Skor Online . Uniteds eighth defeat of a wretched campaign means Liverpool, which currently occupies the fourth and final Champions League place, could go nine points clear of its fierce rival by beating West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. Charlie Adam scored both of Stokes goals at Britannia Stadium either side of Robin van Persies equalizer, with a miserable day for seventh-place United capped by first-half injuries to centre halves Jonny Evans and Phil Jones that forced them off. http://www.airmaxsverige.com/ . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season. LUBBOCK, Texas -- After three road losses this season, the Longhorns finally got a win away from Austin to keep their bowl hopes aliveTexas coach Charlie Strong gave his offense high marks for its 658 total yards, especially DOnta Foreman, who had career highs with three touchdowns and 341 yards, and Shane Buechele, who threw for two touchdowns to lead the Longhorns over Texas Tech 45-37 on Saturday. This was a big road win for us, he said. Well just build on this one. Weve got a big one next week at home.It was Foremans 10th straight game with more than 100 yards rushing. His 33 carries was also a career high. The offensive line stepped up, which is why Foreman had such a good day, Strong said. You look at how DOnta Foremans done, the yards that he had -- the offensive line blocking as well as they did -- its amazing just how he just continues to get better and better. He almost had a fourth rushing touchdown for Texas (5-4, 3-3 Big 12), but had the ball stripped from him near the goal line, which was returned for a Red Raiders touchdown.Foreman said he understood there was a lot more football ahead.Everyone knows its a long game, he said. I just didnt worry about it. I thank these guys, the whole line, for their encouragement.Texas Tech (4-5, 2-4,) had leads in the first half but played from behind most of the second. They got close on a 9-yard touchdown run by DaLeon Ward to pull within 45-37 with 10:50 to play.Patrick Mahomes completed 36 of 59 passes for three touchdowns and 367 yards. Cameron Batson caught two of those TD passes.Texas Tech never led in the second half after leading by nine points midway through the second quarter. We just hit a lull and never came out of it, Red Raiders coach Kliff Kingsbury said. We werent as sharp as we needed to be.THE TAKEAWAYTexas: The Longhorns did a lot to get in their own way. Then Foreman had the ball stripped from him by Texas Tech freshman DB Douglas Coleman, who took it 100 yards the other way for a Red Raiders score. Replay footage showed that Coleman stepped out of bounds at the 2 but the refs apparently only reviewed the fumble by Foreman.Texas Tech: The Red Raiders defense, which came into the game allowing about 214 yards rushing, struggled to stop Foreman. They held him to 37 yards in the first quarter but after that there was no stopping the junior RB. He had runs of 55, 38 and 74 yardJOHNSON COMES UP BIGFreshman WR Collin Johnson got the first two touchdowns of the year, pulling in one for 16 yards and the other for 9 yards in the first half. Its the sixth time a freshman at Texas has caught two TDs in one game and the first time since 2008.TEXAS TOUGHThe Longhorns defense held the Red Raiders well below their season average for total offense (600.3 ypg to rank second in the nation). Texas Tech got just total 482 yards. We knew what we were up against, knew that we were going to go against a highly potent offense and we needed to go out and make plays and we were able to make those plays, even just to get the ball back for our offense, Strong said.BIG 12 -- Texas TechKingsbury hasnt had a winning conference season since he took over the program four years ago. There are only three weeks left in the NFL season, and the race for the last few playoff spots is intense. Paul Hornung Jersey . Yet the scheduling for Week 15 worked out so that theres only one game with major in-or-out ramifications for both teams: Lions at Giants. Detroit is almost guaranteed a spot with a victory (98.4 percent odds), and the Giants would be pretty close (93.8 percent odds). A loss would drop each teams odds a lot closer to 50-50.However, nearly every other game has at least one team that is either virtually assured a playoff spot or is completely out of the running.Tennessees playoff odds are much stronger with a win in Kansas City on Sunday, but the Chiefs are pretty much in whether they win or lose. Thats also the situation in Denver, where the Broncos desperately need to beat the Patriots to stay in the race for the second AFC wild card, but New England will still be AFC favorites even with a loss.Other teams who still arent sure theyre in for January are playing teams that are way out of it. Atlanta, Baltimore, Green Bay, Houston, Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Washington all play against teams that currently have playoff odds under 2 percent.Theres only one exception, one other game between two teams with a slight glimmer of hope for playing in January: Indianapolis at Minnesota, where the loser is toast but the winner still has a small chance of taking a division title -- as long as two other teams go on nice losing streaks.Youll find our playoff odds for every team still in the hunt below. For a full explanation on how we calculate each teams playoff odds, see the bottom of the article.AFC PLAYOFF PREDICTIONSFAVORITES1. New England Patriots (11-2)Odds of making playoffs: 99.9 percentAlthough the Patriots have not clinched a playoff spot, they did not miss the postseason in any of our 50,000 simulations. Not only does this weeks game not really affect the Patriots playoff odds, it doesnt affect the Patriots Super Bowl odds much either. With a win, they get the No. 1 seed 94 percent of the time and win the Super Bowl in 26.9 percent of simulations. Even with a loss, they get the No. 1 seed 71 percent of the time and win the Super Bowl in 25.5 percent of simulations. On the afternoon of May 5, 1955, R.H. Red McDaniel saddled a horse named Aptos in the sixth race at Golden Gate Fields, climbed into his cream-colored Cadillac and made a hasty retreat to the nearby San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. When he reached the high point of the span, he pulled his car to a stop, walked without hesitation to the vertiginous rail, and promptly jumped to his death.McDaniel was 44 at the time and well on his way to a sixth straight national championship. He left no suicide note behind, only riddles whose interpretations ranged from gangsters to gastrointestinal ulcers. Many of McDaniels colleagues believed that an excess of extremely hard work may have exacted a terrible toll, wrote John McEvoy in Great Horse Racing Mysteries: True Tales From the Track. Others suspected cancer, depression, or the final, successful gesture in a series of attempts to do himself fatal harm.McDaniels body was recovered from San Francisco Bay not long after he jumped with a stopwatch and parimutuel tickets in his pockets. Aptos had won his race. The trainer was relatively young, and the game was his oyster, bending to his genius with the condition book and his regular use of the preternaturally talented jockey Willie Lee Shoemaker. McDaniel had everything to live for, as the wisdom goes, but it wasnt enough. There are few things more private than suicide. Maybe nothing. Albert Camus wrote, There is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. The lobby for the right to end ones own life in certain circumstances is strong, with compelling philosophical support. On the other hand, Ive always leaned toward the reaction of the Tom Hanks title character in Joe vs. the Volcano, when a mysterious girl asks Why not? to the idea of suicide.Because some things take care of themselves, Joe says. Theyre not your job; maybe theyre not even your business. Then again, Ive never had my heart ripped apart by the death of a 2-year-old colt making only the second start of his career after a maiden win that had the business buzzing from coast to coast. The Chilli Man, a son of the Tapit stallion Trappe Shot and trained by Monique Snowden, was heavily favored to win the Emerald Express last Sunday at Emerald Downs. He was then to be sold by owner Heidi Nelson to Dean Reeves of Mucho Macho Man fame. Reevess trainer, Kathy Ritvo, was on hand at Emerald to receive her exciting new shooter. But then, barely a quarter of a mile into the 5-1/2-furlong race under jockey Joe Steiner, The Chilli Mans left foreleg gave way at the ankle. With both sesamoids fractured and the supporting tissue ruptured, The Chilli Man could not be saved. He was just a really good-looking horse, and so very impressive in his first race, Ritvo said Tuesday on her way to Saratoga. Dave Robinson Jersey. It was a terrible tragedy what happened to him. But then, what happened afterwards, there are no words.Ritvo had trouble saying it out loud. A few hours after The Chilli Man was euthanized, his trainer apparently drove to the rugged Green River Gorge north of the town of Enumclaw, Wash., walked to the middle of the bridge spanning the chasm, and jumped to her death. Monique Snowden was 37.Red McDaniel was from Enumclaw.By all accounts, Snowden and her horses were inseparable. She had been training her own stable for only a few years, but the results had been promising. We all know this is a game of incredible highs and lows, said Vince Bruun, Emerald Downs director of media relations. Monique seemed to take the highs higher and the lows lower. You can understand that. What you cant understand is why she did what she did and how much pain she must have been in.When it comes to the subject of suicide, Ritvo demurred. Its probably unfair of me to speak about it, she said. I spent six months or longer fighting every day for my life, to get healthy.Ritvo battled through most of 2008 while suffering from a deterioration of the heart muscle and awaiting a transplant operation required to save her life. Five years after the successful heart transplant, she saddled the 5-year-old Mucho Macho Man to win the Breeders Cup Classic at Santa Anita. For me, every day is a good one, Ritvo said. When something like that happens with a horse, any horse, its a tragedy, but you have to pick up the pieces and keep going. I wish there was something that could have intervened between the time that everything went down with the horse and what happened later. When things go wrong, I try to find a lesson out of it and move forward. But its hard to find a lesson out of any of this. The dots of Red McDaniels suicide were tough to connect. He had it all and jumped anyway. Still, it is probably a mistake to be content with the idea that the death of The Chilli Man caused the death of Monique Snowden. He might have driven her to the bridge, but as for what came next, who knows? Steiner, a veteran who has seen it all, is among many in the Washington racing family hurting for answers. The night of the race, I put my arms around her and said, Just breathe, Monique, said Steiner. Youll get through this. Well get through this. All I can take away from what happened is to be grateful for every day, for my wife and my little boy, Steiner added. And how important it is to pay attention to each other and recognize the signs when someone close to us might need our help. Whether they ask for it or not. ' ' '
CINCINNATI -- Bengals first-round pick William Jackson III will miss time as he rehabs a torn pectoral muscle, a source confirmed to ESPNs Adam Schefter on Tuesday. Cheap Jordan 2 Free Shipping . It appears his rookie season could be in jeopardy. The cornerback, selected 24th overall this spring, was hurt late in Cincinnatis practice Monday afternoon, and he wasnt present at Paul Brown Stadium on Tuesday. A source also told ESPN that the team may look to get a second opinion on the injury. While the injury will certainly delay Jacksons growth into the Bengals system, it shouldnt have a major effect on the teams plans at the cornerback position this season. Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick?were already slated to start the season at the boundary corner positions, and third-year corner Darqueze Dennard has been expected to take the majority of reps at the slot corner position in nickel defenses.Dennard (ankle) was also hurt Monday, but defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said he didnt anticipate that injury keeping Dennard out of training camp for long.Jackson was drafted in the first round in hopes of helping the Bengals bolster their long-term secondary depth. Although Jones was signed to a three-year extension this March, he is coming up on his 33rd birthday next month. Kirkpatrick could hit free agency after this season if the Bengals dont agree to a new contract sooner. At Houston, Jackson led all college defensive players with 28 defended passes in 2015. He also had five interceptions last year, including two in a 10-tackle effort in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl win over Florida State. If Jackson is out for a significant amount of time, the Bengals could return to the idea of re-signing free agent corner Leon Hall. The 31-year-old was a Bengals first-rounder in 2007. Cincinnati let him hit free agency this offseason after he counted $9.6 million against the Bengals cap last season. A pair of Achilles injuries in 2011 and 2014 slowed Hall in recent seasons. Still, his possible return would give the Bengals a veteran on the back end of the cornerback depth chart who already knows their system and staff. Jordan Retro 2 Cheap . LOS ANGELES -- One potential All-Star seeks to recover from his worst performance of the season while another looks to continue his recent offensive success when the Baltimore Orioles meet the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.Right-hander Chris Tillman, who permitted four runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings Thursday night in the Orioles 5-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners, hopes to return to the form that enabled him to win nine successive decisions before that defeat.Tillman (10-2, 3.72 ERA) shares third place in the American League in wins, and he is on pace to exceed his career-high victory total. The 28-year-old from nearby Orange County earned 16 wins in 2013, when he made the American League All-Star team for the first time in his first full season with the Orioles. After going 29-13 in 2013 and 2014, Tillman fell to 11-11 in 2015. Last winter, Tillman tinkered with his delivery and produced an effective change-up that complements his fastball.I experimented with some new stuff, Tillman said. Last year, I wasnt able to throw my off-speed pitches for strikes. The hitters were a little more comfortable when they were aware of just one pitch. In the offseason, we did some mechanical stuff, just some minor stuff that helped in a big way.Tillman will be facing the Dodgers for the first time in his eight-year major league career. As he tries to stop the Orioles five-game losing streak by ending the Dodgers five-game winning streak, Tillman will have to defuse one of the National Leagues most potent young threats.Los Angeles shortstop Corey Seager enters Tuesday nights contest with a 17-game hitting streak, a career higgh and the National Leagues longest this year. Wholesale Air Jordan 2. During his streak, Seager is batting .414 (29-for-70) with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and five RBI.For the season, Seager leads the Dodgers with 17 homers, 20 doubles, 100 hits, 57 runs, a .305 batting average and a .540 slugging percentage. The 22-year-old rookie also has 41 RBI to share the team lead with Justin Turner.Theres really nothing he cant do on a baseball field, and hes really continued to get better, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said of Seager. Its scary to think how much hes grown and become a very, very good major league player at this stage of his career, and hes only 22.Even with the presence of left-hander Clayton Kershaw, arguably baseballs best pitcher, Roberts paid Seager perhaps the ultimate compliment. Not to take away from anybody else on the club, Roberts said, but with what he does on the offensive and defensive side, yeah, hes our best player.Seager and his offensive teammates will look for help Tuesday from right-hander Kenta Maeda, who will face Baltimore for the first time in his rookie season.Maeda (7-5, 2.82 ERA) has not allowed more than four runs in any of his 16 starts for Los Angeles. In his past seven starts, the a 28-year-old from Japan is 4-2 with a 2.21 ERA. His last time out, Maeda held the Brewers to one run on three hits in six innings during an 8-1 win Thursday.Dodger Stadium hasnt been as kind to Maeda as road venues, as he is just 2-4 with a 3.00 ERA over eight outings in Los Angeles. Wellington have made it four straight A-League pre-season victories, with Roy Krishnas second-half strike securing a 2-1 win over Central Coast on Saturday in Nelson.Kosta Barbarouses scored from the spot in the 22nd minute to put the Phoenix ahead, but the Mariners drew level through Connor Pain on the half-hour.Central Coast went down to 10 men before the break when Jaques Faty was given a straight red for bringing down Krishna, who was through on goal. The Fijian strikers header early in the second half secured the eighth win in nine pre-season matches for Wellington. With several Phoenix players expected to be on All Whites team duty next week, Alex Rodriguez and Matthew Ridenton started in midfield, while recruits Jacob Tratt and Adam Parkhouse began at the back.On 20 minutes, a flowing Phoenix move found Barbarouses on the edge of the area. China Jerseys Cheap NFL. .Wellington held on for victory, but the disjointed performance, particularly against 10 men, frustrated coach Ernie Merrick.Im pleased with the result, but I always believe that the performance is more important in pre-season and I was disappointed with a few aspects of our game, Merrick said. The passing from the midfield going forward lacked cohesion and we made too many errors. The Mariners played on the counter attack after going a man down and that forced us to change our game, which ended up throwing us off somewhat. The forward passing was not to the quality I expect and we were overrun in midfield. Its something we will have to work on before the first game of the season as we will be missing key players to international duty.Having won eight of nine matches in pre-season is encouraging however and gives us confidence going in to our first game on October 8 against Melbourne City. It was like walking on eggshells at the North Queensland Cowboys on Tuesday. Cheap NFL jerseys China .Kiwi Test star Jason Taumalolo said he had put an alleged egg-throwing incident behind him after being the high profile player among five Cowboys accused of pegging them at cars in Townsville last week. The North Queensland backrower reckoned he now only had Brisbane in his sights ahead of Friday nights NRL sudden death semi-final in Townsville. He claimed he owed his teammates a big game. And it seemed only a standout display from Taumalolo would appease his teammates after clearly polarising the Cowboys player group ahead of the NRL grand final re-match.Taumalolo and Tautau Moga were slapped with $2500 fines by the Cowboys on Monday over the Wednesday night incident, just days before the teams first finals game. All five players involved face court next month on wilful damage charges.Cowboys co-captain Johnathan Thurston could not hide his disappointment with Taumalolo on Tuesday. And he was obviously unimpressed the matter had become a talking point ahead of a match that threatened to derail their title defence.Asked if he was concerned Taumalolo could still be distracted by the incident, Thurston said after a long pause: Yes and no. (But) hes a big boy.In contrast Test prop James Tamou believed Taumalolo had nothing to apologise for.I dont think he has let anyone down, he said. This year he has been one of our best players and I think his head is screwed on right for this game. For the record Taumalolo faced the music on Tuesday and admitted to a media scrum he had a point to prove against the Broncos.I owe it to the boys, he said.Just days after being charged, the New Zealand wrecking ball made little impact in North Queenslands 16-10 opening finals loss in Melbourne last weekend, amassing 86m from eight runs.I need to put in a better performance. I thought I owed them one last week and didnt come up with the goods, Taumalolo said.I am not going to lie, it kind of got to me in the end (against Melbourne). It obviously affected my performance on the weekend, something I was pretty disappointed about.I didnt help myself with the stupid things I did.Its been a long couple of days. Today is all about moving on and focusing on Friday night.Cowboys coach Paul Green was confident Taumalolo had put the incident behind him.I think so, we have dealt with it. Its last weeks news.
