FONTANA, Calif. Nikola Vucevic Jersey . - James Hinchcliffe will return to Andretti Autosport in 2014 with sponsorship from United Fiber & Data. The team, meanwhile, will switch from Chevrolet to Honda. The manufacturer change to Honda announced before Saturday nights season finale at Auto Club Speedway had been expected after rival Chip Ganassi said two weeks ago he was moving to Chevrolet. The re-signing of Hinchcliffe went down to the wire. Not only did Andretti need a new primary sponsor to replace GoDaddy, but Hinchcliffe had been in discussions with Ganassi on a multi-series program. Hinchcliffes hope had been that the Ganassi deal would eventually lead him to the teams No. 10 car currently driven by Dario Franchitti. But without sponsorship needed to fund the Ganassi program, Hinchcliffes smart play was a return to Andretti, where hes become a breakout star for the series. "The last two years have been tremendous and weve spoken so much about the chemistry and the team, and being able to keep the band together is huge," Hinchcliffe said. The Oakville, Ont., native was hired by Andretti following Dan Wheldons death in a crash in the 2011 season finale. Wheldon had been scheduled to replace Danica Patrick in the Andretti ride, and team owner Michael Andretti then turned to Hinchcliffe, who was looking for a ride following the unexpected closure of Newman-Haas Racing. Instantly popular among fans off the track, Hinchcliffe clicked immediately with new teammates Marco Andretti and Ryan Hunter-Reay. He hit his stride this season, where he won his first career IndyCar race in the St. Pete season-opener, and later added wins at Brazil and Iowa. But the indecision of sponsor GoDaddy made Hinchcliffes future at Andretti uncertain. Instead, Michael Andretti grabbed United Fiber & Data for the No. 27 car. The tech company, which was founded by three members of the multi-platinum rock band LIVE and their Think Loud Development company, will also be an associate sponsor for Marco Andretti and Hunter-Reay, and the primary sponsor for Pro Mazda Champion Matthew Brabham as he moves to Indy Lights next season for Andretti. UFD director Bill Hynes said Hinchcliffe will be an outstanding spokesman for its tech company. "We saw how great James was with his prior sponsor, how great he was as a brand ambassador, and we almost want to piggyback to that," said Hynes. "We just really love the IndyCar product, we really think its great platform for us and we really think the face for UFD should be (Hinchcliffe)." The move to Honda was expected following Ganassis decision to join Roger Penske in the Chevrolet ranks. It put the top three IndyCar organizations with the same manufacturer, and a switch to Honda made sense for Andretti. It means hell be the top team and not fighting with two others for attention or resources. "Its like being back home," Andretti said. "I have no doubt that together we will see great success." Andretti won three series championships with Honda in 2004, 2005 and 2007, and the Indianapolis 500 in 2005 and 2007. Of Andretti Autosports 48 IndyCar wins, 39 were with Honda. "As many of you will remember, the Andretti organization played a major role in Hondas success during the previous era of manufacturer competition in Indy car racing, and were looking forward to adding more victories and championships to an already impressive total," said Art St. Cyr, President, Honda Performance Development. In its two seasons with Chevrolet, Andretti won the championship last season with Hunter-Reay and nine races. "We would like to thank the Andretti Autosport drivers for their on-track achievements that contributed to Chevrolet clinching the 2012 manufacturers championship," said Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice-President Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. "They are all true professionals on and off the track. We wish them well and look forward to spirited competition in the future." Terry Catledge Jersey . Louis Blues were workmanlike, methodical and -- most of all -- effective on Monday night. Jameer Nelson Jersey . Nwaneri, who was born in Dallas and attended Naaman Forest High School in nearby Garland, Texas, tweeted, "Its official! Im coming home, Im coming home. The New York Islanders returned defenceman Griffin Reinhart to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League on Wednesday. The 19-year-old Reinhart appeared in four pre-season games with the Islanders, recording two points with a plus-2 rating. The North Vancouver, BC, native remained with the Islanders through the first three games of the regular season, but did not appear in a ggame. Amile Jefferson Jersey. Last season, he scored 29 points in 59 games in his third year with Edmonton and his first as team captain. Reinhart added seven points in 12 WHL playoff games, before suffering a foot injury in Game 3 of the Conference Finals that forced him to miss the remainder of the postseason. The Islanders selected Reinhart fourth overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. ' ' '
PHILADELPHIA -- The Braves followed a familiar pattern -- using timely hitting and stingy pitching -- to complete a four-game sweep of Philadelphia. Mark Radford Jersey . B.J. Upton tripled and drove in two runs Sunday to lead streaking Atlanta to a 3-2 victory over the Phillies and their first four-game sweep in Philadelphia in 50 years. Gerald Laird had two hits with a double and RBI for the Braves, who won for the sixth time in seven games while ending their road trip 8-3. Atlanta avenged a three-game sweep by Philadelphia June 16-18 at Turner Field. "We had timely hitting and the pitching was really good," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "You cant ask for more than that." It was the Braves first four-game sweep in Philadelphia since Sept. 24-27, 1964, when the franchise was in Milwaukee and their four wins at Connie Mack Stadium contributed to the Phillies infamous season-ending collapse that year. Marlon Byrd hit a pair of solo home runs for the slumping Phillies, who have lost eight of 10 to drop to 10 games under .500. "It didnt go our way," Phillies slugger Ryan Howard said. "The ball didnt bounce our way. It just wasnt meant to be for us in this series." Chase Utley singled in the seventh inning for his 1,500th career hit. Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman greeted Utley with applause and a pat on the back, and the crowd of 33,215 gave the Phillies second baseman a standing ovation. There wasnt much else for the home fans to cheer. Philadelphia dropped to 18-27 at Citizens Bank Park and fell to 7-35 when scoring three runs or less as the offence continued to struggle. The Phillies were 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position, finishing the series 3 for 32. "Hitting in the clutch and hitting with men on base is a component we have to get better at," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. "We came up short in this series. It couldve been a big point for us." Aaron Harang (7-6) got the victory despite allowing 11 hits in seven innings. He gave up two runs, struck out four and walked two. "Harang battled through some tough innings, gave us a great effort," Gonzalez said. "Hes a wily vet." Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth, but had to work out of a jam for his 24th save in 28 opportunities. Kimbrel got the first two batters out before consecutive singles by Ben Revere and Jimmy Rollins put runners on first and third for Utley. But Utley flew out to right to end the game. "This was a heck of a series," Upton said. "We really played well. Nobody really tried to do too much. It was a little out of character for us not hitting a lot of home runs, but it all came together for us. Now we just have to keep grinding." David Buchanan (4-4), making his eighth start in place of injured left-hander Cliff Lee, allowed three runs on five hits and five walks in five innings to snap his three-game winning streak. The Braves went ahead 2-0 in the second on Uptons two-run triple off the wall in centre. Harang scored on the play after singling to centre with two outs. The pitcher had been 1 for 25 on the season before the hit. After the first of Byrds two solo homers brought Philadelphia within 2-1 in the bottom of the frame, Lairds RBI double plated Tommy La Stella to push Atlantas advantage back to two runs. It was the fourth extra-base hit in the last three games for La Stella, who had two doubles and a triple in Saturdays doubleheader. In the bottom of the frame, Byrd homered into the Philadelphia bullpen to make it a one-run game again. The Phillies threatened in the sixth when they put runners on first and second with nobody out. But Koyie Hills sacrifice bunt attempt resulted in the lead runner being forced out at third, and pinch-hitter John Mayberry Jr. grounded into an inning-ending double play. Philadelphia had runners on first and third with one out in the seventh when Howard grounded into another inning-ending double play. NOTES: Justin De Fratus pitched a scoreless sixth inning to extend his scoreless innings streak to 17. ... Braves catcher Evan Gattis didnt play for the third straight game after having back spasms striking out swinging in the first inning on Friday. Gattis will be reevaluated when the club returns to Atlanta on Monday. ... It was Byrds seventh career multihomer game. ... The Phillies have Monday off before beginning a three-game series at Miami on Tuesday with RHP A.J. Burnett (5-7, 3.89) opposing Marlins RHP Henderson Alvarez (5-3, 2.32). ... The Braves host the Mets for three games beginning Monday when Atlanta LHP Alex Wood (6-6, 3.07) faces New York RHP Zack Wheeler (3-8, 4.45). Sarunas Marciulionis Jersey . Toronto dropped a 7-2 decision to the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday afternoon, with only a pair of late runs preventing a second straight shutout loss. Josh Willingham belted a two-run homer in the first inning and Kendrys Morales hit a bases-clearing double in the seventh as the Twins took the rubber game of the three-game series. Pete Cross Jersey . The Henry Burris-led squad finished second in the East Division before advancing to the Grey Cup where they ultimately fell to the home field advantage wielding Saskatchewan Roughriders.TORONTO - Dwane Casey was visibly put off when faced with a question regarding his teams recent success and their upcoming stretch of winnable games prior to Mondays contest against the league-worst Milwaukee Bucks. "[People] keep asking that question and its not a legit question because we dont have that right, we havent arrived yet," Casey responded. "Weve got to take each game at a time, each possession at a time and look at it that way." "Thats the message Im sending to [the players]. Weve got to play basketball and be focused and not look at records." League standings are not welcome in the locker room, Casey maintained. If they were, they would show the Raptors in sole possession of third place in the Eastern Conference, just barely ahead of the Hawks, following a decisive 116-94 victory over the seven-win Bucks. Since an early-December trade reversed their trajectory, Casey has kept his team focused. They have defeated the leagues best in wins over the Thunder and Pacers, they have fought hard on the road in Indiana and Miami and, perhaps most importantly, theyve taken care of business against teams that many may have expected them to look past. They havent. "No, you cant [take anyone lightly]," DeMar DeRozan said following a 19-point, seven-rebound, seven-assist performance in his teams 22-point win. "It doesnt matter who we play, its an NBA team. Besides us theres 29 other teams in this league and we prepare for each one of them the same." Casey is getting through to his troops, whether they realize it or not. "He said that [too]?" DeRozan asked with a smile after echoing his coach. "Im just being honest. I tell my guys the same thing, we dont look at who were playing. We understand each game matters more than the last one." Its not just lip service, the Raptors have been practicing what they preach. Apart from a short-lived Bucks run that cut the home teams lead to eight at halftime, the Raptors never took their foot off the gas. Their 38-point first frame matched a sseason-high for scoring in a quarter and the game was quickly put away early in the third after Toronto adjusted to the Bucks pesky zone defence. Jim McIlvaine Jersey. "We cant rely on that every night," Casey said of the teams second-half run. "That resolve, it doesnt win too many games against good teams so weve got to make sure we take care of business, and we did." "I think we came out with more effort in the second half and it seemed to work for us," said Kyle Lowry, who scored 11 of his team-high 23 points in the third quarter. Again, Lowry was exceptional, shooting 6-of-8 from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range and connecting on all seven of his free-throw attempts. The Raptors point guard also recorded four steals and drew his league-leading 23rd charge of the season. "Just another night at the office for Kyle," Casey said. [The] charges are huge. If you go in there hes going to come from nowhere to get a charge so he does a great job of that, reading that, sacrificing his body for it. Hes done everything, defensively, offensively, hes set the tone." The playmaking ability of DeRozan - who registered four or more assists in a career-best sixth straight game - and John Salmons, adding five dimes along with his 10 points off the bench, took pressure off the Raptors point guard, freeing Lowry up on the weak side. As a team, the Raptors tallied 26 assists, shooting 51 per cent from the field and 12-of-23 from beyond the arch. Although Casey doesnt want to hear about it, Torontos next four opponents have losing records. The Raptors have won 10 of its last 11 games against sub-.500 teams and dont appear to be letting up.  "Im going to say this again, we dont have any right, yet, to overlook anyone in this league," Casey repeated after his team improved to 19-17, two games above the .500 mark for the first time since March of 2010. "Its a tough league, were still building, were still getting there so I cant allow our guys to have that in their thought process." ' ' '
TORONTO – Mason Raymond doesnt much like talking about himself. Kerry Wood Jersey . "First of all, Im not a guy that [is] going to sit here and blab about myself," Raymond said in conversation with the Leaf Report, asked if he had something to prove this season. "You go and you play hockey. Thats the way it goes. Theres not much more to say than that." Fortunately for the Maple Leafs, his play on the ice has done all the talking. Raymond has 11 goals and 25 points in 37 games this season and is on pace to either match or exceed career-highs in goals, assists, points and ice-time. The 28-year-old has been one of the few bright spots in Toronto this season. Drafted and developed by the Canucks – he was a second round pick in 2005 – Raymond spent his first six NHL seasons in Vancouver. But he went unsigned by the organization this past summer and found himself without a job right up until the eve of training camp, a victim no doubt of the cap crunch in 2013 – which saw the caps upper-limit fall to $64 million. He landed with the Leafs on an unlikely pro tryout and was signed subsequently for a very modest $1 million on a one-year deal. The deal has proven a bargain thus far and his adjustment to Toronto – at least on the ice – has appeared seamless. "Sometimes change is good," said Raymond, who played 374 regular season games with Vancouver. "For me here, [Im] getting different opportunities, playing with some good players and playing minutes. "Id only known one thing – Id only known Vancouver," he continued. "I went from one city to this city; different coach, different players, different systems, different everything, so theres things to adjust to and thats part of being a pro and adjusting to it and learning." Raymond chalks up his exit from the Canucks to business, though he concedes that "youre out to prove that possibly they made a mistake in not signing you". "I was a free agent and they chose not to pursue with me anymore and so be it," he said. "Thats hockey and thats just the way it went." His addition, a strike for speedy depth initially, has been of considerable importance for the Leafs, who have struggled to find their way this season. Be it because of injuries – mostly down the middle – or suspensions, the club has needed every bit of offence it has received from Raymond, who sits third in team scoring, trailing only Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk. Among the more consistent and versatile options in the Toronto lineup, Raymond has not gone more than four games without a point and is tied for second in December scoring after leading the team in November. He is averaging what would be a career-high of more than 18 minutes. With the increased opportunity, Raymond is on pace to best the career year he had in 2009-10. That season, playing mostly alongside Ryan Kesler, he totaled 25 goals and 53 points, numbers hes in line to match or even exceed this season. Is he a better player now? "I like to think I have more experience and have learned from a lot of situations that Ive been through," said Raymond, his recovery from broken vertebrae in his back and a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011 among the challenges and experiences. "All those things, any person will tell you in any aspect of life, having experience will help you in many situations." Raymond may not like "putting the spotlight" on himself, but the Leafs have to hope his play keeps doing it anyway. Wholesale Custom Cubs Shirts . Its been two seasons in one for both parties and neither will look back on the first 18 games fondly. "I think I took the fall for a lot of things," said Gay, reflecting on his short time in Toronto ahead of Wednesdays game against his former club. Brad Wieck Jersey . If one fighter gases, he usually gets beat up pretty bad from that point on.PORTLAND, Ore. -- James Harden snapped out of his slump. Omer Asik stopped LaMarcus Aldridge. But it was rookie Troy Daniels who made all the difference for the Houston Rockets. Daniels, who spent time in the D-League this season and didnt make his pro debut until March 5, hit a 3-pointer with 11.9 seconds left to lift the Rockets a 121-116 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers on Friday night and narrow Portlands first-round playoff advantage to 2-1. Harden finished with a career playoff-best 37 points and Dwight Howard added 24 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets. Aldridge had more than 40 points in each of Portlands victories in the first two games in Houston. But Asik did a good job of shutting him down in Game 3, holding the All-Star forward to 23 points. The Blazers were led by Damian Lillard with 30 points. Portland trailed by as many as 11 points in the final quarter but Nicolas Batum hit a 3-pointer with 41 seconds left to tie the game at 110. Harden missed a half-court shot at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. Lillards layup gave Portland a 116-112 lead with 3:08 left in the extra period. Jeremy Lin hit a jumper from the top of the key before Hardens fadeaway tie it with 1:51 to go. Aldridge missed a jumper over Howard but Lin missed a 3-pointer on the other end before Daniels nailed his 3-pointer. Daniels finished with nine points in the game, all 3s. Before the game, coach Kevin McHale told Daniels to "be ready," the undrafted signee out of Virginia Commonwealth said. "He competes," McHale said. "He dives on the floor for balls. Hes a tough kid." Batum missed a 3 with 4.9 seconds left and Harden made free throws for the final margin. Only three teams have come back to win after losing the first two games of a seven-game series at home: The last was the 2004-05 Mavericks, who came back against the Rockets. Houston is 0-7 overall when falling behind 0-2 in the first round since the 1983-84 expansion. Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday at the Moda Center. "We havent done anything yet," McHale said. "Weve won one game. But it feels a lot better than losing." The Blazers hadnt opened a playoff series 2-0 since 1977, when they got the early jump on the Lakers en route to the Western Conference title. Portland wwent on to beat Philadelphia for its lone NBA championship. Ben Zobrist Jersey. McHale, who acknowledged before the game that his team was frustrated, tinkered with the lineup and started Asik in place of Terrence Jones. Asik did a good job in keeping Aldridge out of the paint and the Rockets responded by coming out with intensity. "The came out and played as they should down two games," Aldridge said. Patrick Beverleys 3-pointer gave the Rockets and early 19-13 lead before Harden finished off the first quarter with a 3-pointer to put Houston up 35-24. Harden and Beverley each finished the first quarter with 11 points. Harden was the leagues top shooting guard in the regular season, but he was 14 of 47 from the field in his opening two playoff games for his worst two-game stretch of the season. Lillards 3-pointer tied it at 38, but Mo Williams and Robin Lopez each hit baskets to put Portland in front and cap a 16-point run. Lillard led all scorers with 16 points at the half and the Blazers had a 55-54 edge. Harden and Chandler Parsons made consecutive 3-pointers to give the Rockets a 71-65 lead midway through the third period. But Portland -- bolstered by a raucous hometown crowd -- kept Houstons lead in single digits until Hardens 3-pointer made it 90-80 with 10:18 to go in the game. Hardens jumper gave the Rockets a 100-91 lead with 6:21 left, but Lilliard made free throws that closed Portland to within 103-98 before a falling-down jumper and a foul shot to make it 103-101 with 4:05 left. Lillard scored on a layup to put Portland in front 107-106 with 1:59 left. After Harden made four straight free throws, Batum made the 3-pointer to tie it. "I thought we had some good looks down the stretch,Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "Lin Harden and Daniels made their shots. And we didnt." NOTES: Houstons Terrence Jones went to Portlands Jefferson High School, leading the team to three straight Class 5A championships before playing for Kentucky. ... Among the fans in the crowd for the Blazers first home playoff game since 2011 were Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who grew up in Portland. ... The Blazers have made at least eight 3-pointers in the in three straight post-season games for the first time in franchise history. ' ' '
VANCOUVER -- For a few moments Pavel Bure travelled back in time Saturday night. Cory Ross Jersey . One of the most exciting players to ever dress for the Vancouver Canucks admitted it was an emotional experience to have his jersey retired. "It was a great feeling," said Bure, nicknamed the Russian Rocket, after his No. 10 was raised to the rafters at Rogers Arena prior to the Canucks playing the Toronto Maple Leafs in a nationally televised NHL game. "It brings back lots of great memories. With the fans cheering and everybody happy, it was like you scored a goal. I felt like I had to play again. I was in the middle of the ice and 20,000 people were cheering for me." The crowd, many wearing Leaf jerseys, chanted "Bure, Bure." During a 12-year career with Vancouver, Florida and the New York Rangers, Bure scored 437 goals and added 342 assists in 702 games. As a Canuck he scored 254 goals, won the Calder Trophy as the leagues top rookie in 1992, had five 50-goal seasons and registered consecutive 60-goal seasons in 1992-93 and 1993-94. During Vancouvers 1994 run to the Stanley Cup final Bure had 31 points in 24 games. In 2012, Bure became the only Canuck player to be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Joining Bure at centre ice during the ceremony were the Canucks owners, general manager Mike Gillis, former Canuck GM Pat Quinn and Gino Odjick, Bures former teammate and long-time friend. Also attending was Bures mother Tatyana and wife Alina Khasanova. Gillis, who was once Bures agent, said he was proud to share the event with his former client. "The moment you became a Canuck you changed the landscape of hockey in Vancouver," Gillis said. "Everyone was captivated by the Russian Rocket." Bures jersey is the fourth retired number at Rogers Arena. It will hang beside Stan Smyles No. 12, Trevor Lindens No. 16 and Markus Naslunds No. 19. Smyle and Naslund both attended the ceremony. Linden, who was captain for six of Bures seven seasons in Vancouver, had a commitment in the United States and could not attend. He did appear in a video tribute during the game. Bures legacy in Vancouver was tarnished when he refused to play for the Canucks in the 1998-99 season, forcing a trade to Florida. Showing the same fluid moves he once used on the ice, Bure easily sidestepped questions on whether he thought the Canucks would retire his jersey. "My thoughts are it was a great night," said the 42-year-old. "Its probably the biggest honour you can get. Im really pleased." Asked if he was nervous, Bure said he wasnt until Wayne Gretzky called him earlier in the day. "I knew it was a big deal," Bure laughed. Besides retiring his jersey, the Canucks announced they will name the teams most exciting player award after Bure. The Canucks and B.C. Hockey have also established a Pavel Bure Award for minor hockey players who best exemplify the values of "integrity, passion, teamwork and courage." Any hard feelings Canuck fans had toward Bure looked to be forgotten as they gave the former superstar a standing ovation. "To all of you . . . thank you for all the cheers," Bure told the crowd. "I will never forget those years we spent together. "Nobody deserves a Stanley Cup more than you. And its going to happen. I know. Thank you for night, thanks from the bottom of my heart." Corey Harris Jersey . UEFA said Wednesday that the champions of England and France only have to include five home-trained players in their 21-man squads next season instead of the expected eight. Only one of the five players needs to be trained by the club itself. Kyle Richardson Jersey . - Connor McDavid scored twice and added two assists as the Erie Otters beat the Sarnia Sting 7-3 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors clamped down defensively in the fourth quarter to extend their franchise-record winning streak. Stephen Curry had 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Klay Thompson added 21 points and the Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 105-93 on Wednesday night, upping their streak to 14 games. Golden State outscored Houston 32-17 in the fourth, holding the Rockets to just 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from the floor in the period. The last six or seven minutes we had tremendous effort from everyone on the floor, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. Harrison Barnes posted 20 points and seven boards for the Warriors, who improved to an NBA-best 19-2 on the season. He was fantastic tonight, Kerr said. Made some big shots for us. Hes so quick and strong. The defensive versatility gives us a lot of flexibility. Andrew Bogut missed the game due to knee tendinitis. James Harden supplied 34 points, eight rebounds, four helpers and four steals for Houston, which had won seven of its last eight games coming in. Dwight Howard missed his 10th straight game due to a knee strain. Harden tied the game at 89-89 with 4:45 left after knocking down a step-back 3-pointer, but the Warriors cclosed the game on a 16-4 run, including 11 straight points following the Harden triple. Domata Peko Sr. Jersey. Draymond Green jumpstarted the surge with an emphatic dunk off a Curry feed and Green returned the favor a bit later when his steal and dish led to a Curry left-handed reverse for a 98-89 advantage with 2:59 to go. Currys pull-up left wing trey with 55 ticks remaining capped the scoring. Earlier, Houston hit 10 of its first 13 shots as it built a 24-16 lead before settling for a 30-23 spread following a quarter of play. The margin reached 11 early in the second following Donatas Motiejunas turnaround hook shot, but Golden State ripped off the next nine points. Thompsons pull-up jumper pulled the Warriors within 36-34. Harden sunk a pair of foul shots in the final second of the half and tied the game at 46-46 heading into the break. His last second tip-in to conclude the third staked Houston to a 76-73 edge going into the fourth. Game Notes Curry, who came in 2-of-12 from beyond the arc in his last two games, was 3- of-5 from downtown ... Golden State improved to 8-1 at home this year, while Houston fell to 8-2 on the road ... Golden State was 17-of-20 from the foul line. ' ' '
MADISON, Wis. Vapormax Pas Cher France . -- Tom Izzo wasnt trying to be funny. He was simply expressing frustration after Traevon Jacksons pull-up jumper from about 10 feet with 2.1 seconds left lifted Wisconsin past No. 9 Michigan State, 60-58 on Sunday. It was some of the 18 other baskets the Badgers hit that got to the coach of the short-handed Spartans. "Some guys in there that couldnt guard this table," Izzo said before someone listening to his postgame press conference chuckled. "Thats not funny; thats the truth. Id probably laugh too if I were you," he said. Playing in his second game, and first start, back from a foot injury, Adreian Payne finished with a game-high 24 points and hit a 3 with 10 seconds left that tied the game at 58. As has often happened during the juniors career, Jackson ended up with the ball in his hands late for a defining shot. Izzo knew it might be coming, so he put his best defender, Gary Harris, on Jackson. Still no luck and the shot went through. A desperation 3 by Michigan State from midcourt banged off the rim as time expired, and the Wisconsin faithful erupted with applause. The victory snapped a three-game losing skid at home. "Just (because) they lost a couple of home games -- and thats un-American in the Cheesehead State -- dont kid yourself. Theyre a very good team," Izzo said. The Badgers (19-5, 6-5 Big Ten) committed 14 turnovers, six more than their NCAA-leading 8.3 per game, but gutted out a win over Michigan State (20-4, 9-2). Nigel Hayes led Wisconsin with 14 points, while Sam Dekker added 11. Wisconsin shot 45 per cent for the game (19 of 42), a threshold that means things are going wrong for the defensive Spartans. Theyve allowed opponents to shoot at least 44 per cent in each of their four losses. Travis Trice added 13 points for Michigan State, though Big Ten-leading scorer Gary Harris was held to six points on 3-of-20 shooting after being shadowed most of the afternoon by defensive specialist Josh Gasser. And yet Michigan State still had a chance late, even with guard Keith Appling sitting out a second straight game with a wrist injury. "Ive got a feeling that Applings out for a couple weeks. I have no idea. I cant answer the same questions, and I dont blame you for asking," Izzo said. "Theres no break. Theres no stress fracture. He cant even pass the ball; he cant move his hand." Harris long bucket with about 23 seconds left -- one of his few bright spots on the afternoon -- got the Spartans within three. Wisconsin had a chance to turn it into a two-possession game, but Ben Brust missed the front end of a 1-and-1. Michigan State secured the rebound and called timeout. Izzo drew up a play that ended up with Payne holding the ball. He had burned Wisconsin much of the night on the inside. This time Payne hit from the outside and the Badgers faithful thought they were witnessing another late collapse at home. The loss to Ohio State more than a week ago ended up about the same way. But Jackson, who has struggled much of the last month during Wisconsins stretch of losing five of six, came up big. He finished with seven points and tied a career high with eight assists, but had five turnovers. "Thats sort of what they expected out of me is just to finish the game," Jackson said. "The pull-up was there, and I was blessed to be able to make it go in." Wisconsin led by double-digits at one point in the second half. Things got shaky late. After two empty Wisconsin possessions, the Spartans raced down in transition and Trice hit a 3 from the wing to get within 55-52 with 1:43 left. They just couldnt break through in the end. A five-game winning streak over Wisconsin came to an end. Gasser finished with 11 points and six rebounds for the Badgers. His straightaway 3 with 6:33 left gave the Badgers a huge lift and a six-point lead that was slowly chipped away by the Spartans. But Gasser gave his team an ever bigger lift with his defence on the crafty Harris. "Josh worked as hard as he normally works, and he got some help from teammates also," Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan said. "Josh did a great job of positioning, and chasing." Air Max Pas Cher En Ligne . Stricker said his 50-year-old brother, Scott Stricker, has been in the hospital since Jan. 6 and was transferred to the intensive care unit three weeks ago. Stricker said his brother has a history of health problems, but took a sudden turn for the worse after the holidays. "Hes walking a tightrope is what theyre telling me," Stricker said Tuesday after his daily visit to the hospital. "He needs a liver. Hes holding his own, but this cant last forever. Hopefully, we get one soon." He said the family thought his brother had a liver donor over the weekend, but the timing didnt work out. Stricker said his brother caddied for him when he qualified for the Canadian Tour in 1989, and soon after had colitis that turned into Crohns disease. Scott Stricker had emergency surgery last Thursday, and Stricker said he has been stable since then. If he were to miss the Match Play Championship that would mean four of the top 12 players in the world ranking are not in the 64-man field at Dove Mountain. Air Max 97 Pas Cher Chine. Tiger Woods, Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson already have said they would not play. Stricker won the Match Play in 2001 in Australia, and he reached the quarterfinals a year ago. He has not officially withdrawn -- players have until Friday to commit -- but said it was not looking good for him to play. "I was going to leave today to go to Phoenix for a few days, but thats not going to happen," he said. "Its going to be a long shot if I come and play. Im practicing every day, but in the back of my mind, I feel like Im not going to be there -- unless something happens rather quickly, and they say it can. But if one comes available, I wanted to be around for the surgery." Stricker has competed only once since the Presidents Cup last October -- he played the unofficial World Challenge the first week in December -- though he said he played a few rounds in Naples, Fla., after the holidays. Last year he began a limited schedule to be at home more often. Stricker played only 13 times last year and finished No. 3 in the FedEx Cup. ' ' '
MANCHESTER, N. Frankie Albert Jersey .H. -- Kyle MacKinnons first-period goal held up as the winner as the visiting St. Johns IceCaps picked up their sixth straight victory with a 3-1 win over the Manchester Monarchs in American Hockey League action on Saturday. Captian Jason Jaffray scored on the power play with 44 seconds left in the second period, and Adam Lowry rounded out the IceCaps (26-15-3) offence by burying his eighth of the season three minutes into the game. Paul Postma assisted on all three St. Johns goals, and Jerome Samson helped on two as the IceCaps -- currently in second place in the Atlantic -- moved within 10 points of the Monarchs in the standings. Linden Vey had the lone goal for the Atlantic division-leading Monarchs (29-13-7), spoiling Michael Hutchinsons shutout bid at 1:27 of the third period. Nick Deslauriers was credited with the lone assist. Hutchinson made 28 saves while Manchesters Jean-Francois Berube stopped 18 shots in the losing effort. The IceCaps are 8-2 in their last 10 games. Larry Schreiber Jersey . On Thursday theyll learn even more. Despite the cloud of uncertainty that has followed them around from the moment general manager Masai Ujiri was brought in to put his stamp on the franchise, the Raptors have surpassed all pre-season expectations. Dave Parks Jersey . Napoli hit two home runs, Jonny Gomes and prized rookie Xander Bogaerts also connected, and the Red Sox kept up their dizzying scoring spree at Yankee Stadium by bashing New York 13-9 Saturday for a fifth straight win. CEDAR PARK, Texas -- After allowing five goals in Game 1 of the American Hockey League final, Michael Hutchinson went back to the hotel Monday night and did his homework to prepare for Game 2 against the Texas Stars on Tuesday. That preparation was even more crucial as the Stars fired 50 shots against the goaltender, but Hutchinson stopped 49 of them in a 2-1 victory to even up the Calder Cup final at a game apiece as it heads back to St. Johns for Games 3 through 5. "We went over all their scoring chances and all my touches, and kind of got to see myself from a different angle," said Hutchinson. "I think that really helped me coming into the game tonight, knowing what to expect and I was more prepared." It was one of the best individual performances IceCaps coach Keith McCambridge had seen in more than two decades as a player and coach. "Without a doubt its up there in the top three with a lot of good goaltenders over the years," said McCambridge. "Hes really in a zone right now. Hes really focused on making sure we got that split on the road." Hutchinson made his biggest stops a minute apart in the third period while clinging to a 2-1 lead. With 13:05 remaining Kevin Henderson had a point-blank chance in the slot on a rebound, but Hutchinson sprawled to his right for what McCambridge called his best save of the night. "That was the obviously the key moment in the game for us," said McCambridge. A minute later Hutchinson made another spectacular stop, thiis time diving back to the left post with the blocker as Brendan Ranford attempted a wrap-around into an gaping net. Leo Nomellini Jersey. "I kind of just got into scramble mode," said Hutchinson. "I was fortunate I could reach far enough. For all those times you end up reaching just a little too short, I was fortunate I got my glove out there and able to get a piece of it." Hutchinsons lone mistake came 29 seconds into the second period when Ranford had tied the game at 1-1 for Texas. But 44 seconds later the IceCaps fourth line reinstated the lead. Blair Riley was left wide open in front of the net and easily beat Cristopher Nilstorp with a one-timed shot off a pass from Kyle MacKinnon. Earlier St. Johns scored on its first scoring chance 4:05 into the game. Eric ODell took a wrist shot that trickled between Nilstorps legs. Kael Mouillierat easily tapped the puck home, making sure it crossed the line to give St. Johns a 1-0 lead. Even with all the shots he faced, Hutchinson didnt have to make any stops on the power play. For the first time in 94 combined regular season and playoff games, the IceCaps didnt face an opposition penalty kill. St. Johns did commit a penalty-- a roughing minor against Jordan Hill-- but it was cancelled out by a matching minor against Stars defenceman Jamie Oleksiak. Nilstorp stopped 33 of 35 shots for Texas, and made several key stops in the second and third period to keep his team in the game. Game 3 is Wednesday at the Mile One Centre in St. Johns. ' ' '
CALGARY -- Sean Monahan scores. Cheap Air Jordan 1 China . Calgary Flames win. Repeat. In whats quickly becoming a familiar script, the 18-year-old rookie sensation was at it again Friday night scoring the game-winner with 2:43 left in the third period to lead Calgary to a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils. The sixth overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft, Monahan has had a dream start to his pro career with goals in four straight games. "Thats the biggest one yet," said Monahan, who turns 19 on Saturday. "It won us the game there and thats huge. We want to win as many games as we can right now, we want to have a good start and thats really big for our team right now." Monahan also has a five-game points streak (four goals, two assists), which is the longest for a Flames rookie since 31-year-old Sergei Makarov had points in seven straight games to begin his NHL career in 1989-90, which was before the league re-wrote the rules around rookie eligibility. "Ive got to give a lot of credit to my linemates and the players Im playing with," said Monahan, who is still eligible to return to OHLs Ottawa 67s although the likeliness of that happening seems to decrease with every passing game. "Theyre making it easy on me, putting the pucks right on my tape and in good position and fortunately enough, Im putting them in the back of the net." The game-winner was a prime example of that. Sven Baertschi made a hit along the side boards, grabbed the loose puck and zipped a perfect pass to Monahan, who steered it behind Marty Brodeur. The 41-year-old Devils goaltender already had 29 NHL wins when Monahan was born. "As soon as I got the puck, I was looking towards the net. I saw Jiri (Hudler) but then I saw (Monahan) back door," said Baertschi. "We were just looking at each other and I was like OK, theres only one thing I have to do, get that puck right to him and there was only one stick in the way, so I passed it as hard as I could." It is the first time since the Flames moved to Calgary in 1980 that the team has taken at least one point in each of its first five games. "We feel good but there are no stats right now that allows us to sit on those five games. We have 82 to play. There is still lots of hockey to be played," said Flames coach Bob Hartley. Dennis Wideman and Mark Giordano also scored for Calgary (3-0-2). Hudler had two assists to extend his points streak to five games. The Flames now depart on a five-game road trip that begins Wednesday in Anaheim. "We have to have a big road trip. Were playing some of the best teams in the league," said Giordano. "Youre not going to beat those teams if you dont play the right way. Were looking forward to it but weve got to bring the juice." Adam Henrique and Dainius Zubrus scored for New Jersey (0-2-3). The Devils are 0-1-2 with two stops to go on their five-game road trip. They visit Winnipeg on Sunday. On the heels of a stretch that included two shootout losses and an overtime loss, it was another tough defeat. "Obviously we want to get wins and were not getting them, but the last thing we need to do is really get frustrated or over-analyze it," said Devils captain Bryce Salvador. Jaromir Jagr said they just have to keep their chins up and keep going. "We just made some mistakes and it cost us," said Jagr. "We had the lead every game except the first game against the Penguins. Weve got to learn to play with the lead." New Jersey poured on the pressure in one stretch in the third when the game was tied 2-2. But despite Joey MacDonald losing his stick, the Devils were unable to score with Flames bodies diving in front of shots all over. "We had it for a minute and a half but they were able to block everything," said Jagr. Despite his frustration, Jagr still managed to mix in some humour as he reflected on the chances that got away in that one frenzied scramble. "Theyre smart, huh. Theyre tired so they laid down," Jagr said. "Everybody does it, so do you. When youre tired, you go sleep. They went down but we couldnt lift the puck up. We had so many chances." Already ahead 2-1 late in the second period, New Jersey appeared to have scored again when Ryan Clowes slapshot off the wing bounced up in the air off MacDonald and into the net. However, the goal was waved off and Devils winger Michael Ryder, who had gone hard to the net for the rebound, was sent off for goalie interference. Calgary had its best prolonged pressure of the game on the ensuing power play, controlling the puck in the Devils zone for the entire man advantage. After several close changes, Giordano eventually poked a backhand into the net to tie it 2-2. Notes: Calgarys Lee Stempniak had his four-game points streaks snapped. ... David Jones (upper body) did not play. He has been placed on injured reserve and is considered week-to-week. Tim Jackman made his season debut in his place. ... Monahan turns 19 on Saturday. ... Fair and Syracuse. After starting the season with 25 straight wins and being ranked No. 1 for three weeks, the faltering Orange lost 55-53 to pesky Dayton on Saturday night in the third round of the NCAA tournament, their dreams of a second straight trip to the Final Four dashed by too many misses from 3-point range and a team that refused to cave at the end. "Theyre a small team, but theyre scrappy," Fair said. "Every time we had the ball, they got a hand in there. They set the tone early. We were playing catch-up the whole game." The third-seeded Orange (28-6), who finished second in their first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference, struggled all game against the swarming Dayton defence. Syracuse led only twice in the second half, falling behind for good after two free throws by Devin Oliver gave Dayton a 41-40 lead with 6:18 to play. Syracuse missed all 10 attempts from beyond the arc, while the Flyers hit seven times from long range. It was the first time in 665 games that Syracuse failed to make a 3. "Its hard to win making layups," Orange coach Jim Boeheim said. "At some point in time, you need to knock something down from the perimeter, and we didnt. It was just not a good offensive game for us. If the other team makes five or six 3s and you make five or six layups, youre six points down. That was what I saw out there tonight." Syracuse star freshman point guard Tyler Ennis was open at the top of the key with 2 seconds left and the Flyers holding a two-point lead. When Ennis attempt to win the game clanged harmlessly off the rim, Dayton had a victory it had been chasing for three decades. "We have a good program with great tradition," coach Archie Miller said after his 11th-seeded Flyers reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in 30 years. "Now, we have the ability to build, and thats what its all about." Ennis had beaten Pittsburgh last month with a 40-foot shot at the buzzer, so he had the confidence to try again, even though Syracuse had missed nine attempts from behind the arc. "The last shot was a great shot. It was the right play," Boeheim said. "A chance to win the game. You dont have enough time to get to the basket. I have no problem with that shot." Neither did the 35-year-old Miller, though he probably aged jusst a little bit while the ball was in the air. Air Max 270 Cheap Online. "That thing was on line and he went for the win," Miller said. "The thing that went through my head was the game at Pitt, when I saw that highlight 7,000 times. I thought he was going to go to the basket. When I saw him raise up, I didnt feel good about it. But Buffalos been good to us these last couple of days on the buzzer shots." It sure has. Vee Sanfords basket with 3.8 seconds left was the margin of victory in Daytons one-point win over in-state rival Ohio State on Thursday. After that game, the Dayton Daily News mocked Buckeyes fans who refer to "The Ohio State University" with a headline that read: "THE University of Dayton." Dayton (25-10) now advances to the South Regional semifinals next week against No. 2 seed Kansas or 10th-seeded Stanford. Syracuse was in position to pull this one out, but Ennis also missed a foul-line jumper with 8 seconds left. He was down in the subdued locker room, with red faces all around, but confident he had made the right decision as he had so many times in a standout season. "Its hard to digest any loss," said Ennis, who finished with 19 points on 7-of-21 shooting. "They did a good job defensively, and the looks we did get we didnt capitalize." Dyshawn Pierre scored 14 points and Jordan Sibert, held scoreless in the first half, hit a key 3-pointer with 47.7 seconds for Dayton. Sibert finished with 10 points and Sanford had eight, but Sibert nearly gave it away when he stepped out of bounds while the Orange pressured him in the corner with 14 seconds left. After Ennis settled for a jumper from the foul line that missed, instead of driving the lane as he had all night, Syracuse fouled Pierre and he made one free throw, giving the Orange one more golden opportunity that they didnt take advantage of. Fair had 14 points on 4-of-14 shooting and 10 rebounds in his final game for the Orange. Jerami Grant had just four points and attempted only three shots before fouling out late. Trevor Cooney, who broke out of a long slump with four 3-pointers in the second round against Western Michigan, had two points and missed all four shots he took from behind the arc. "When you make shots, you win. When you dont make shots, you lose in close games," Boeheim said. "Early in the year, we made shots." ' ' '

Arcidiacono had six points and two assists in the extra period. He hustled for a loose ball with 37.7 seconds left that allowed Villanova coach Jay Wright to call a timeout and avoid a turnover. James Bell, who finished with 30 points, followed with two free throws to make it a three-possession game for the Wildcats (17-2, 6-1 Big East). Todd Mayo had 18 points including the last 10 in regulation for Marquette (11-9, 3-4) to help force overtime at 77-77. A layup by Villanovas Tony Chennault with one second left in regulation was waved off by the officials after Steve Taylor, Jr., drew a charging foul. Wright pleaded with the officials while Marquettes fans erupted in jubilation. Arcidiacono helped his coach forget about the frantic ending, and Villanova snapped Marquettes 20-game winning streak in home conference games. Marquettes last loss at home to a Big East foe was 67-60 to Cincinnati on March 2, 2011. The Golden Eagles had the third-longest such streak in the country entering Saturday behind Gonzaga and Weber State, who were both at 23 games. The hard-fought win for Villanova at one of the toughest venues in the league helped ease the sting of a humbling 28-point loss at home earlier in the week to Creighton. Darrun Hilliard had 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting for Villanova. Davante Gardner had 29 points and 13 rebounds for Marquette. The Wildcats frustratedd Marquette early with jumpers, but Gardner led the Golden Eagles push in the paint to stay within a possession or two for much of the second half. Custom Portland Trail Blazers Jerseys. Villanova turned away every run -- until the end of regulation. The Wildcats kept it interesting after missing 5 of 7 from the free throw line in a stretch in the final 1:11. Mayo followed a running jumper with a three from the corner to get Marquette within 75-74 with 13.2 seconds left. Arcidiacono responded with two free throws, but then fouled Mayo on three-point attempt at the other end with 4.8 seconds left. Mayo hit all three free throws -- the last one tantalizingly bouncing on the rim a couple times before falling through for a 77-77 tie. It set up Chennaults contested drive for a potential game-winner, but the officials charging call whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Overtime had seemed unattainable after JayVaughn Pinkstons dunk gave Villanova a 68-57 lead with 4:53 to play. But the Golden Eagles fought back in their third straight overtime game before falling short. Villanova allowed an opponent to shoot at least 50 per cent from the field a second straight game, a startling statistic for a team that prided itself on holding teams under that mark for 47 straight games. While Creighton did its damage from the perimeter, Marquette pounded the ball inside with a 54-30 advantage in the paint. The bullish 6-foot-8 Gardner led the way, shooting 9 of 16. Marquette, though, wasted opportunities at the free throw line, especially in regulation, and finished 21 of 31 for the game. ' ' '

Elkin Soto struck first for the home side 21 minutes into the match, but his goal was quickly canceled out by an equalizer from Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was busier than usual as he was called upon to keep his team level, while Robben struck the final blow in added time to extend the winless streak for Mainz to nine games. The defending champions entered the contest having yielded just three goals in 16 league contests, but they found themselves behind after 21 minutes as Soto was able to reach a dangerous ball at full stretch and redirect it inside the near post from a tight angle. Daniel Brunskill Jersey. However, Schweinsteiger had an answer just a few minutes later when he lined up a free kick and drove the ball toward the left post, where goalkeeper Loris Karius got a hand to the shot but was unable to keep it out. Neuer was called upon early in the second half to make a fine stop on Yunus Malli, who got in behind the defense and forced a top-notch save from the Germany international. Bayern had a lot of possession but didnt manage to seriously threaten until the closing stages when Juan Bernats low cross made its way to Robben inside the area, allowing the Dutchman to stroke home the winner. The Vancouver Canucks are expected to name Jim Benning the teams new general manager later this week, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported Tuesday. Tommy Kahnle Jersey . Naming a head coach is next for the organization, with former Nashville Predators bench boss Barry Trotz high on the teams list of candidates. Benning, a former Canucks defenceman who spent nine seasons in the league with Vancouver and the Toronto Maple Leafs, has been an assistant with the Bruins since 2006. Following his playing career that ended in 1990, he worked as a scout for the Anaheim Ducks and the Buffalo Sabres before a six-year run as the Sabres Director of Amateur Scouting starting in 1998. Benning won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011. Newly appointed team president Trevor Linden parted ways with former general manager Mike Gillis last month and fired head coach John Tortorella in early May. Trotz was relieved of his head coaching duties with the Predators in mid-April, the organization he had been with for 15 seasons. Zack Britton Jersey . The Calgary Flames will see if they can take their recent hot streak on the road when they shoot for a sixth consecutive win Monday night in Montreal. The Flames went 5-0 during a recent residency at the Saddledome, sweeping a five-game homestand for the first time since Feb. 7-15, 1997. The hot stretch at home came just two weeks after the Flames set a franchise record by losing seven straight in their own building. Calgary, however, has lost three straight and eight of its last 10 on the road, but the Flames hope to pick up an away win when they visit the Canadiens tonight at the Bell Centre. The Flames are just 9-13-4 as the guest this season, and despite the recent surge, the club is still 14 points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Calgary is beginning a three-game swing on Tuesday. The Flames will visit the New York Islanders on Thursday before playing their last game before the Olympic break Saturday in Philadelphia. Calgary capped its perfect homestand on Saturday by picking up a 4-3 overtime win against Minnesota. The Flames carried a 2-1 lead into the third and built a 3-1 cushion just a minute into the period before the Wild scored twice over the final 10 minutes of regulation to send the game to OT. Mikael Backlund scored the game-winner in overtime for Calgary, giving him two goals on the night. T.J. Galiardi added a goal and an assist for the Flames and Dennis Wideman also lit the lamp. The Flames did lose goaltender Karri Ramo to a sprained medial collateral ligament on Saturday, as he left the game late in the first period and did not return. Reto Berra stopped 14-of-17 shots in relief. Ramo will miss his teams final three games before the Olympics and the Flames have recalled goaltender Joni Ortio from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League to assist Berra with the netminding duties. "Reto (Berra) gets the start in Montreal," Flames coach Bob Hartley said. "He came in big for us last game. We have three games left. Were in the businesss of playing the ones who perform. Mike Mussina Jersey. " The Canadiens enter this evenings test having lost two straight at the start of a four-game homestand. Montreal, which has dropped four of six overall, was handed a 2-1 overtime setback by Tampa Bay on Saturday and lost by the same score in regulation the next day versus Winnipeg. Michael Frolik scored the winner in the third period and Al Montoya made 30 saves to help the Jets down the Habs. Brian Gionta scored the only goal and Carey Price allowed both goals on 33 shots for the Canadiens. "We were intense today and hit two posts, but Montoya made some good key saves," said Montreal head coach Michel Therrien. "Sure we would like to score more goals, but I liked the intensity we showed today." Montreal is currently holding onto the seventh of eight playoff seed in the Eastern Conference. The Habs are two points in front of Detroit and Philadelphia for that distinction and Montreal is two in back of Toronto for third place in the Atlantic Division. The Canadiens pulled off a minor trade on Monday, acquiring forward Dale Weise from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Raphael Diaz. Montreal general manager Marc Bergevin said Weise "brings additional toughness and grit to our group of forwards." Weise, 25, had three goals, nine assists and 65 hits in 44 games for the Canucks this season. For his career, he has totaled 10 goals, 16 assists and 185 penalty minutes in 162 games with the New York Rangers and Canucks. The 28-year-old Diaz posted 11 assists and blocked 100 shots in 46 games with the Canadiens in 2013-14. The Swiss native has four goals and 37 helpers in 128 career games, all with Montreal. Including this evenings test, the Canadiens have three games left before the NHL goes on hiatus for the Winter Olympics. Montreal is set to complete its four-game stay at the Bell Centre on Thursday against Vancouver before visiting Carolina on Saturday. The Canadiens, who are 15-10-4 as the host this season, have lost two of their last three home games against the Flames, although the clubs last met in Montreal on Oct. 13, 2011 when Calgary notched a 4-1 triumph. The Flames have taken four in a row in this series and boast a 7-0-1 record in their last eight tilts against Montreal. ' ' '
